What is a Swing Trader?

A swing trader is a type of investor who opts for holding positions in financial instruments for short or medium terms, a few days up to several weeks. In this technique, the swing trader tries to capitalize on the price swings or fluctuations in the market by catching upward or downward trends. They primarily use technical analysis to identify patterns and trends, with a bit of fundamental analysis to make enlightened decisions about entry and exit. The swing traders time their trades so as to take advantage of the market volatility without much risk as compared to a long investor or day trader.
